The Lord first called him to be a missionary to Spain in 1981, he led the mission there until 1987. When he returned to the United States, he was appointed pastor of the church in Gilroy, California, for two years until he was called again into missionary service. Bishop Provencio was President of the Apostolic Assembly in Argentina from 1990 to 1992 and was the first Regional Supervisor for South America from 1992 to 1994. As the Regional Supervisor, he sent the first missionaries to Paraguay, Bolivia, and Peru.

In 1994 he was appointed Pastor of the historic Apostolic Assembly in Donna, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley. During his time in the South Texas District, he also served as District Treasurer. He was later appointed to the First Apostolic Assembly of San José, California. Soon after this appointment, he was elected as District Secretary for the North Pacific Coast District of California. He served as Pastor and District Secretary until he was elected Secretary of International Missions in 2014. In 2014 there were twenty-three countries with Apostolic Assembly missionary presence, as Secretary of International Missions he grew that to a total of forty-three countries with Apostolic Assembly churches or missionaries. The 2022 General Convention elected him General Treasurer.
